May Gray is upon us in San Diego. This time of year a thick marine layer generally descends, pushing temperatures down into the high 50s – low 60s. I made the most of the cozy weather by spending the weekend absorbed in a craft project from Sublime Stitching.
The Austin-based company proudly and accurately states, “This is NOT your grandmother’s embroidery.” Lucky for me – it is not. That is to say – it is much much easier than it was in my Nanny’s day.
They offer adorable patterns for $5 each (like these two sets I sewed onto baby bibs) and a variety of textiles. The patterns are iron-on ink transfers – just place on your fabric, heat ‘er up, and stitch along the resulting lines. Each pack also comes with easy to understand instructions for getting started in embroidery.
